White Bird Rock Medicine
White Bird Rock Medicine (WBRM) has been providing event medicine services for over 50 years, ranging from small local events to major multi-day concerts and festivals. Our dedicated team of medical and behavioral health care professionals provide emergency medical response, mental health crisis support, psychedelic harm reduction, and basic first aid services. Our goal is to provide participants at events with supportive services to co-create a safe, fun, and positive experience for everyone.
Additionally, WBRM is a non-profit whose mission is to raise money from our event medicine services and donate it to community-based non-profits supporting historically unserved/underserved marginalized individuals. The hundreds of skilled individuals who work with us each year volunteer their time so that we can raise funds for other community members in need of support.
Chuck Gerard Basic Needs Fund
Chuck Gerard was a dedicated staff and volunteer of White Bird Clinic for over 3 decades and was dedicated to supporting individuals who were unserved and underserved in our community. His life’s work was to create a safety net of services below the community safety net for those who were being failed by the existing systems of care. He also was a key coordinator for White Bird Clinic’s Rock Medicine program and coordinated this team with care, compassion, and humor at every event. Chuck was a teacher, counselor, crisis intervention specialist, and clown all at the same time and he left an impression on all of those that he interacted with.
In Chuck’s memory, White Bird Rock Medicine has established this philanthropic fund to support non-profits that are dedicated to serving those in need with a focus on serving individuals from historically marginalized communities. Each year we will dedicate a majority of the money we raise from our event medicine work to this fund and will select projects and agencies who align with our core values to support. Thus building on the over 50 years of service and support for individuals at the events we serve at and individuals in need of care here in our own community.
Our Services
White Bird Rock Medicine provides medical and crisis services, which includes all medical, mental health, psychedelic harm reduction, and first aid services. WBRM is equipped to provide life-saving emergency medical responses while also providing supportive crisis services primarily in the areas of behavioral health and psychedelic harm reduction including receiving or retrieving disoriented folks, monitoring, nurturing, and connecting them with additional resources or support as needed. We hold to professional standards of care informed by a wholistic multidisciplinary lens and our approaches blend clear protocols with organic improvisational techniques. While our staff and volunteers strive to keep participants safe and healthy at the event WBRM also provides a professional linkage to outside emergency response and hospital services when individuals require a higher level of care and support.
